Breguet and the Teatro Dell’Opera of Rome: a union celebrating music

In line with its long-standing tradition of patronage of art and culture preservation, Breguet embarked on a partnership in 2016 with the Teatro Dell’Opera of Rome, one of the most prestigious opera houses in Italy.
Founded in 1880, the Teatro Dell’Opera has showcased both exceptional classical music concerts and ballet performances featuring internationally acclaimed artists. Renowned for its unique acoustics, the Theater is also highly regarded for its internal architecture, in particular its splendid dome adorned with frescoes and finely illuminated by a Murano crystal chandelier.
This brand-new collaboration between the Teatro Dell’Opera of Rome and the House of Breguet provides valued support to music – an art form to which the watchmaking brand attaches great importance. It also undeniably constitutes a tribute to famous composers and musicians (such as Gioachino Rossini, Arthur Rubinstein and Sergueï Rachmaninov) who were unconditional admirers and owners of Breguet watches. Furthermore, this alliance between Music and Haute Horlogerie exemplifies the values that tie these two worlds together. Alongside their dedication to sharing beauty and emotion, the musical and horological fields are closely intertwined by their common quest for precision, innovation, and excellence.
Officially launched in February 2016, this new partnership was celebrated with a performance of Gioachino Rossini’s opera « Il Barbiere di Siviglia ». The choice of Rossini’s work is symbolic for the Breguet Manufacture as well as the Teatro Dell’Opera for it pays tribute to when Rossini’s opera inaugurated the Theater on opening night, November 27, 1880.
